I have a question,
When I log my dive, the question arises about the max depth at the dive site.
is this the depth of the dive site in general or what does this mean.

Hi Andreas,

The Max Depth field in the Dive Site is meant to allow you to capture the maximum depth for the site itself. You would capture the maximum depth on any given dive at that Dive Site in the dive itself. Dive Site items will be used by multiple dives if you dive at the same site multiple times. There is no hard and fast rule about what exact value you would put into that field. For example, for a site that had multiple levels but had a "bottom" at 60ft/18m you might enter 60ft/18m for the Dive Site maximum depth (where individual dives might have a max depth shallower than that). However, for a "wall" that had a hard bottom at 1000ft/305m you might choose to enter the maximum practical depth you would dive to at that site (this would be very different for a technical diver than a recreational diver).

The Dive Site maximum depth is not currently used in any calculation within Dive Log, it is just mean to help you describe and document the characteristics of the site itself.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Greg
